Assembling & Adjusting
The knife maker prepares and adjusts the metal parts of the knife, which are composed of the blade, the spring, the side plates and the bolsters. The forged spring is the central part of the handle on which the blade rests when the knife is closed. The knife is adjusted in open and close positions to ensure its perfect functioning and a proper blade positionning. The edge of the blade must not touch the spring when closed. The reliability of the knife depends on the accuracy of the adjustment.
